Stock a child’s bookshelf while you stock your pantry shelves!
On February 28th, when you shop at either the Quarry Market or Vineyard Whole Foods Market locations, your purchase will benefit SAReads and the children, families and teachers it serves. As part of their Community Giving Day Program, Whole Foods Market has pledged to donate 5% of net sales for the day to SAReads.
The SAReads® Literacy Academy and Book Bank provides programs and resources for parents and guardians, students, and teachers to help children achieve reading proficiency. The SAReads family engagement program works with parents and guardians to strengthen family involvement at-home and offer enrichment experiences to students who would otherwise go without.
To celebrate the San Antonio community coming together to help all our children learn to read, shoppers at the Whole Foods Quarry Market location will enjoy a special performance by the Ballet Conservatory of South Texas, while those at the Vineyard will be treated to an appearance by Fiesta Flambeau Parade mascot, Torchy. SAReads staff will also be on-site collecting new and gently-used children’s books on behalf of the SAReads® Book Bank.
Thank you to our partner, Whole Foods Market, and their support of SAReads’ mission to increase literacy in our city.
