SAReads Teachers

All teachers can be taught to read if properly taught. Improving reading instruction using science-based reading instruction (SBRI) is proven to increase reading proficiency levels for children in high-poverty schools. SAReads is developing a community of teachers by providing SBRI professional development and instructional coaching to all teachers at an elementary school in Southwest ISD. This prototype professional development model started in June 2017 and will continue throughout the academic school year, impacting hundreds of children this year and thousands of children in subsequent years.
